Every year, over 28 billion pounds of garbage are dumped into our oceans. Ocean life is dying, and our oceans are being polluted rapidly. The problem is we are doing not enough to solve it. If we do not take action now, future generations will lead a very hard life. Most plastic products are for single use, and then we trash it. But then where does it go? The trash usually is deliberately dumped into the ocean by our waste management companies. The plastics that are in seafood across the world have negative effects on human health. The average US seafood consumer eats about 11,000 pieces of plastic in their seafood a year. Also, if we do not do anything about this issue, then the amount of trash in our oceans by 2025 will have doubled from what it is now. Plastic is a very cheap material, which causes many people to buy it. Now, what can we do to solve this impending issue? Instead of buying plastic bottles, buy a reusable bottle or reuse the plastic bottles you have. Raise awareness in your communities about plastic in the oceans. Waste less, and reuse whatever you can. We need to solve this problem, because it is a global issue. We created this issue, and now it is time to solve it.
